Taka Toshifumi is one of the leading artists representing modern Kutani. He is a rare successor who legitimately carries on the style of Kutani Shoza, a legendary master who once gained global fandom and drove Japonisme. Shoza's style reaches a pinnacle that cannot be achieved without mastering all Kutani techniques—from vibrant Saishiki Kinrande (vivid colors with dancing gold accents) to delicate Akae Saibyo (fine red line painting).
