Breathing Life into the Warmth of Hand-Built Forms

An artist who infuses vivid artistic sensibility and fresh vitality into traditional Kutani ware. Possessing a background as a veterinarian, Yamaura Saori holds a truly unique profile in the world of Kutani ceramics.

Drawing inspiration from her beloved birds, her imaginative perspective creates a unique and captivating realm that instantly draws viewers in.

Sculpted through "tebineri" (hand-building) without the use of molds, her forms exude an organic, tactile warmth. Complemented by rich, vibrant, yet gentle colors, her overglaze enamel painting occasionally delivers a thrilling, breathtaking charm. We invite you to experience the subtle magic of her craft.
